Boston Knee Surgery

At Boston Sports & Shoulder Center, our primary mission is to provide the highest quality and leading edge orthopedic care to our community. Our team of providers treats each patient and their family with sincere compassion and helps to guide them through the healthcare process. Our orthopedists in Boston have soundly established themselves in the orthopedic community. All are Board-certified fellowship trained, with advanced training in their respective fields. We are proud to be the home of “Boston’s Top Doctors” with a Boston Magazine award every year since 2006. All of our physicians hold academic appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine and actively teach in the New England Baptist Hospital Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. We train the young doctors of today to build and enhance quality care for future generations. Our wide range of experience sets us apart, but it is our dedication and passion for treating each patient with individualized care that defines us. We have very high standards and are extremely proud to offer life-enhancing care to give our patients the active and mobile lifestyle required for healthy living and healthy aging. If you have injured your knee and are considering Boston knee surgery, consider us first.

Using the most advanced procedures for Boston knee surgery, we employ arthroscopic techniques to diagnose and repair the damage. Unlike traditional surgery where large incisions are made, arthroscopy uses very small incisions, about the size of a grain of rice. An endoscope, a small camera with a light at the end of it, is placed through the incisions into the knee joint. The images are relayed back to a large screen where the doctor can find and repair the joint damage. Many of these procedures can be performed as an outpatient and healing is much faster that traditional surgery. Robotic-assisted technology is used to enable our surgeons to plan partial knee replacement procedures by using three-dimensional computer imaging based on a CT scan. This allows orthopedic surgeons to determine optimal implant size, position, and alignment for each individual patient, and to map out accurately the areas of bone they want to remove. During surgery, the robotic arm system provides visual, auditory, and tactile control to help assure that surgeons cut away only the damaged bone. Recovery time is relatively fast and post-op discomfort is minimal. Our high standards and innovative orthopedic services make BSSC the only place to come if you are looking for Boston knee surgery. We have three locations in the Boston area for your convenience. Give us a call today.
