Boston Shoulder Replacement

When getting dressed is painful, or reaching for something on the high shelf is nearly impossible, it is time to see an expert in shoulder injuries. As our name suggests, we are on the cutting edge in shoulder repair, as well as other orthopedic conditions. At Boston Sports & Shoulder Center, our primary mission is to provide the highest quality and leading edge orthopedic care to our community. Our Boston shoulder surgeon, Dr. AndrewJawa, treats each patient and their family with sincere compassion and helps to guide them through the healthcare process. All of our doctors are Board-certified fellowship trained with advanced training in their respective fields. We are proud to be the home of “Boston’s Top Doctors” with a Boston Magazine award every year since 2006. If you are looking for a skilled orthopedic surgeon to treat your shoulder injury, or if you need a total shoulder replacement in Boston, give us a call today.

Dr. Jawa performs more than 200 total shoulder replacements per year and has extensive experience with both primary and revision shoulder replacements. Dr. Jawa and his team are committed to improving patient outcomes and satisfaction while reducing complications. Patient-reported outcomes are carefully tracked in a database that allows Dr. Jawa, the Boston shoulder replacement surgeon, and his team to monitor outcome trends, identify areas of potential improvement, and report outcomes and complications to the public. Dr. Jawa believes that transparency empowers patients and their families to make informed decisions about their treatment. With a primary total shoulder replacement, the ball (humeral head) of the shoulder joint is replaced with an implant that includes a stem with a smooth, rounded metal head. The socket (glenoid) is replaced with a smooth, rounded plastic cup that fits the head of the ball perfectly. A revision shoulder replacement may be indicated when a former shoulder procedure no longer works. A careful and thorough physical examination will be administered to determine the best course of action for your shoulder condition.

Our esteemed team of doctors, physicians assistants, rehabilitation experts, and acupuncturist all share a common goal: to treat each patient respectfully and to provide optimum care. Our Boston shoulder replacement surgeon is a gifted clinician who has great success in treating shoulder conditions and performing total shoulder replacement. So if your pitching arm needs attention, give us a call today. We'll get you back in the game quickly and thoroughly.
