Dr. James G. Nairus is an attending orthopedic surgeon at the New England Baptist Hospital and has been Board Certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons since 2004. He came to New England Baptist Hospital from the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts where he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Chief of the Division of Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Nairus is a Clinical Instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Nairus has lectured at orthopedic conferences and authored numerous works of orthopedic literature.
Dr. Nairus graduated Cum Laude from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts where he was a first team GTE Academic All-American in basketball. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship, orthopedic residency and an orthopedic research fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He then completed the Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital.
Dr. Nairus is also a well-respected physician in the medical/legal world where he performs Independent Medical Examinations for insurance companies, injured workers, motor vehicle accident cases, as well as slip and fall cases. He also serves as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases.
Dr. Nairus specializes in surgery of the hip and knee performing total joint replacements as well as knee arthroscopy.
