At Boston Sports and Shoulder Center, we know that severe joint pain can impact your ability to do the most basic tasks. Replacing the damaged joint with an artificial implant can help you feel and move better. If you have been told you need a hip replacement, knee replacement or joint replacement in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle or foot, our experienced team is here for you. Our surgeons offer the latest in total joint replacement, partial joint replacement and resurfacing, including minimally invasive techniques. We also provide revision surgery, treating many patients whose prior joint replacements have failed.

Welcome to The Hand Center at BSSC, we are specialists in the care of the symptomatic hand and elbow. Our team is headed by board certified Orthopedists and Plastic Surgeons who have completed Hand Fellowships and have a Subspecialty Certificate (formerly CAQ Hand) in Surgery of the Hand. Our practice is limited to problems of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. This includes reconstructive surgery for arthritis, tendon, nerve and bone surgery as well as reconstructive microsurgery and soft tissue coverage for complex upper and lower extremity problems.

On July 1, 2018 Hand Surgical Associates (after almost 50 years) merged with Boston Sports and Shoulder Center (BSSC) and became The Hand Center at BSSC. This allows us to provide our patents with a more comprehensive upper extremity service and also allow our patients access to world class Orthopedic care. BSSC and the hand surgeons are proud to be the home of “Boston’s Top Doctors”.

The human foot is a very complex structure with 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 ligaments and muscles working together to achieve a unique combination of stability and flexibility. Problems can arise in any of these specialized structures, especially with active adults.

Boston Sports & Shoulder Center provides expert muscle and skeletal therapy from licensed acupuncturist Sung Kim in our Waltham office. We specialize in treating Chinese massage therapy, post-op pain management, frozen shoulder, scar tissue mobilization, muscle strain, muscle imbalance, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve entrapment, plantar fasciitis, and back and neck pain. Needles, cupping therapy and cold laser therapy are used in treatment.
