He is wonderful and more doctors should treat their patients like he did!

I would give Jacob Kirsch,MD 5 stars out of 5. The entire experience has been nothing but amazing. His skill as a surgeon is fantastic. He telephoned me the night prior to my surgery to be sure I was ok and asked if I had any question.
It my be unusual, but I have had NO pain from the new shoulder, mild discomfort, but NO pain. It has been wonderful. I am 6 weeks out of surgery and have about 75% of full use of my right arm and I am right handed so that is very important. I have to wait 6 months to get my Left shoulder done and it can't come soon enough.

I had a traumatic biking accident a few days ago, and after taking X-rays and reviewing them thoroughly, Dr. Kirsch gently and with empathy delivered the news of the course of action that needed to happen when you have a four-part proximal humerus fracture—a complete reverse shoulder replacement. Although this was shocking news, he was understanding and thorough with his explanation and I trusted him immediately. Surgery is scheduled for a few days from now.

I cannot say enough good things about Boston sports and shoulder and Dr. Kirsch. They are always on time, extremely courteous and helpful. Dr. Kirsch is the ultimate professional and fantastic surgeon. Performed a reverse shoulder operation on me six weeks ago and I’ve never felt better! He takes the time to listen and gives great advice. I lived with shoulder pain for years and wish I had this done earlier. Thank you Dr. Kirsch!

Best surgeon ever. First impression! He offered conservative modalities before discussing surgical intervention. Went over all options including what surgery would entail in great detail. I walked away feeling valued and informed medically. It’s clear he truly cares about his patients. That’s rare today. Highly recommended!

Dr. Kirsch seems to be a well educated man who knows his shoulders and how to fix them. I find that he could be a little more attentive to the actual question being asked and instead of expounding on the already explained functions, and he could try to answer the questions asked instead. Listening to the patient and the question and answering the question without all the rhetoric, could perhaps make the patient feel like their questions are valid, and not being minimized due to repetitive information that they've already heard and understood as presented the first time. The patient didn't go to school to be the doctor, you did. We trust you know what your doing. We are asking questions from a laimens view point, the patients point of view. Have you ever heard of the "KISS" method, Keep It Simple Sam.

Dr. Kirsch was unbelievably professional in all his dealings with me and my family. I can’t believe the length he went to do his surgery on my right shoulder. I can also assure you that I had zero pain from the surgery.

Dr. Kirsch was definitely straight to the Point, as to what issues I am having with my left Shoulder, and what 3 options I have, and he told me to tell him, which direction, I am taking. I chose Surgery because I am an Outgoing Woman in my 60s, and my range of motion is limited. I don't want to live like this anymore...

Dr. Kirsch did a reverse shoulder replacement for me in Feb. 2021. My shoulder was severely damaged with arthritis with significant bone loss and little ability to move my arm. Only three months later, I'm pain free with excellent range of motion in my shoulder.
Dr. Kirsch explained my choices, the procedure and what to expect in recovery. Dr. Kirsch is a conscientious and caring surgeon who provided excellent care, kindness and support.

When I was in a car accident last August and I tore my rotator cuff, I was not able to go to Boston Sports and Shoulder Clinic until my PIP was met. I had no choice, but to go to another facility.
Source :
The doctor provided a detailed explanation of the various surgical options when my level of pain and decreased range of motion will require surgical intervention. He was not trying to encourage surgery at this time and in fact seem to think that despite the severity of the condition that my level of pain did not warrant it now.

Dr. Kirsch was great. He explained everything clearly and very distinctly. I have the utmost confidence in how he would perform the procedure. A decision to follow.

Dr. Kirsch was very well-spoken, and extremely knowledgeable about what was happening with my shoulder. He knew about issues that I would have, without me telling him- so I knew he understood what I am going through and what treatment is best for me. His concern for me as a person, not only as a patient, was very evident. I highly recommend Dr. Kirsch.

Dr. Jacob Kirsch is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I’m so grateful for his expertise during an incredibly challenging and scary injury. Almost 3 months ago, I had a fall where I dislocated my shoulder and fractured the greater tuberosity of the humerus. This small piece of bone, connected to the rotator cuff, is responsible for much of the arm’s functionality. The dislocation also resulted in an axillary nerve injury, rendering my deltoid practically useless. I’m 37 and this is my dominant arm!
Dr. Kirsch was able to see me just several days after the fall. He is an excellent listener and extremely patient. I appreciate that he took his time explaining the details and significance of this injury. He is a straight shooter and both kind and compassionate.
My surgery was initially scheduled for 3 weeks after the fall but Dr. Kirsch was concerned that waiting could effect the surgical outcome. So, he called me on a Sunday asking if I was available for surgery that following Wednesday! Who has ever had a surgeon call on a Sunday?!? Wow. He contacted the hospital and arranged to bump up the surgery. He truly advocated for me and I can’t thank him enough.
Most importantly, Dr. Kirsch is a gifted surgeon. Although I have a lengthy recovery ahead, I am in a much better position today than I was 3 months ago and he is the reason for that. I’ve read his other reviews and I wholeheartedly agree with his 5 star ratings! Thanks to Dr. Kirsch, I am well on my way to regaining the use of my arm.

Excellent detail-oriented and data-driven surgeon. Caring approach to patients. Great listener!! My shoulder replacement surgery went smoothly. Recommend strongly without any reservation.

I have been entirely pleased with all my interactions with Dr. Kirsch. My first meeting with him was very educational and gave me a full understanding of my condition and what would be needed to repair it. I knew rotator cuff surgery has a 6 month recovery period. And indeed at 6 months I am extremely pleased with the results. I did follow advice and spent months in physical therapy. It has been worth the time and effort. Dr. Kirsch was available anytime I needed him...with post surgery pain, after I fell on ice at week 7. Excellent all around.
Source :
Felt like I was in extremely competent hands. Dr. Kirsch explained in great detail the issue and the repair. I was particularly impressed that he called me the day before the surgery to see if I had any additional questions and he called me the day after to see how I was doing. Additionally, I was able to communicate with him via email, to which he was very responsive. I have never had such good access to a doctor before.

Dr. Hofmann is amazing! Best care I’ve ever gotten. I had surgery on my ankle and was super transparent about everything. Highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Slovenkai for a very rare condition in my toe called Fribergs syndrome from an injury. Many other doctors didn’t want to come near me in fear surgery would make it worse. These doctors didn’t have experience or knowledge to perform surgery. Dr Slovenkai was not hesitant and performed surgery. His expertise is the foot. I suffered with constant pain and mobility problems for two years. Thanks to this wonderful doctor I’m doing so much better. I’ll always be grateful to him and will recommend him.

I am currently a patient here and just had a complicated hip surgery, now 10 days post op. This facility has world-class physicians, and the Beth Israel Outpatient center location in Dedham is also phenomenal. The care and attentiveness from the staff, nurses, and surgical coordinators is unparalleled. Dr Wuerz is one of the top hip surgeons in the country and is one of the nicest people I've ever been treated by for anything. I can't speak for the other physicians, but from what I've seen, the caliber of care here is best in class. They are very experienced and good at what they do.
The front desk seems to have some newer people from these earlier negative reviews. They are very nice and keep you updated. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to see the doctor or to get X-Ray's done. I think some people have unrealistic expectations. If they can't answer the phone because they're busy seeing patients, try sending them a message in the online portal. They're pretty quick to reply.
Most of the people complaining seem to be about logistics and insurance costs they were billed, that's on you not them.
